Home Again

It took all of two years, maybe more, but we've finally found our home again in Kansas City, MO.

Coming back to this city has been special for both of us and it's been at an amazing time for this town, with a baseball team in the World Series (let's go Royals!), Google putting Fiber all over the city (and available in our new apartment!), a lightrail being put in and hopefully up and running next year, an ever-increasing foodie/coffee hub, local food culture... I could go on. Kansas City is a hidden gem and I will happily praise it near and far, but will never complain when it's never recognized - more for us!

It's been a year of incredible change for us. We got engaged in January, married in September, and moved in October, both of us with new job prospects. It was a whirlwind of activity and I'm sure it won't be settling down much until after the holidays.

We got a loft downtown, which is a bit of a dream for both of us. 16 foot ceilings, a view of the river, open floor plan, space to entertain, rooftop deck, within walking distance of good coffee and food - soooo good. Our landlord is also pretty incredible and the lofts are completely customizable. There's no real ROI here, but at least we know if we want to put some shelves in, we can put some shelves in.

Andrew will be flying out of the downtown airport for a local charter company similar to NetJets. It's got a strong history, already, and a great future and hope it'll give us a little more stability and flexibility in schedule. I'll be working at a local market/kitchen called The Sundry, which opens November 5th. You can check out the website for The Sundry here. I'm really excited about it. In addition to the market and kitchen, they have a second floor that they'll use for classes on cooking, canning, butchering, nutrition, etc.

I'm also going to be starting up my studies again and getting certified in Naturopathy, Nutrition, and Herbal Studies, which I hope I can use at work.

I'll be moving us to the new place this weekend while Andrew is in training in Dallas. It's an exciting time for the Paulus family!
